Step 5: Install the New Oil Filter

Before installing the new oil filter, lightly lubricate the rubber gasket on the top of the filter with some fresh oil. Then, screw the new filter onto the engine by hand. Once snug, use the oil filter wrench to tighten it further, ensuring it is not overly tightened.

Step 6: Add the New Oil

Locate the oil filler cap under the hood of your Jetta and remove it. Using a funnel, pour the recommended type and amount of fresh engine oil into the engine. Check your vehicle's manual for the specific oil type and capacity information.
