- Locate the drain plug:
- Refer to the vehicle's owner manual or service manual to identify the location of the transmission drain plug. It is typically located on the bottom of the transmission pan.
- Position a drain pan:
- Place a drain pan underneath the drain plug to capture the old transmission fluid.
- Remove the drain plug:
- Using the appropriate socket or wrench, carefully loosen and remove the drain plug, allowing the old transmission fluid to drain completely.
- Replace the drain plug:
- Clean the drain plug thoroughly and reinstall it securely onto the transmission.
- Locate the fill plug:
- Refer to the vehicle's manual to determine the location of the transmission fill plug. It is typically found on the side of the transmission.
- Attach a fluid pump:
- Connect a fluid pump to a new bottle of appropriate transmission fluid and insert the pump into the fill plug opening.
- Add new transmission fluid:
